2017: A Year In Review

What Have We Been Up to in 2017?!

Duluth, Minnesota Wedding Planning + Wedding Coordination

If you follow our blog you may have noticed that we’ve been pretty quiet of late. I want to apologize for that, but at the same time, I’m not 100% sure an apology is necessary. Why? Because 2017 has been the busiest and best year yet at Pure Event Planning & Design. The reason why I cannot keep up with blogging? Because we are busy working for YOU and we are busy living life. After all, life is meant to be lived, not blogged – right?

Wedding Planning + Having a Baby + Renovating Our Farmhouse = An Awesome 2017

I mean it when I say we had such a great year. As always, our clients [read: friends] were A M A Z I N G. The variety of weddings that we had was unbelievable. Wedding planning and wedding coordination took us all over the state of Minnesota and beyond. Our clients made us think outside of the box and presented us with some fun challenges along the way. Truly, we are so grateful for each and every person that chose Pure for their wedding.

While planning all sorts of fun weddings, we worked with many old and new vendor friends! These friendors [see what I did there? friends + vendors = friendors] made absolute magic happen over and over again. I cannot express enough thanks to those of you that helped us make our couples’ dreams come true!!

My husband and I also did a thing… a big thing – we had a baby!! We welcomed Theodore to our family in early October. Transitioning from the role of wedding planner to wedding planner + mommy has been a welcomed challenge. Little Theo now often joins me for client meetings. Being a working mom give busy a whole new definition! Trying blogging while breastfeeding is just plain HARD. [yep, I went there] If you haven’t yet met Theo, likely you soon will! [spoiler: there are no newborn photos of him below. While Kellie Rae Studio took some amazing photos of him, we like to keep some parts of our lives private.]

The addition of Theo meant the Pure family had to grow… I officially welcomed a new Lead Planner to our team. Welcome to the family Tawny!! Wait until you see what Tawny has to offer – she is truly amazing. Its so nice to have someone that is one step AHEAD of you. Anyone who chooses Tawny for their wedding day is going to be so lucky.

2017 was a prolific year that will never be forgotten. In addition to all the weddings we planned + coordinated, we did three styled shoots and somehow won two pretty amazing awards! Thank you so much to The Knot for awarding us The Best of Weddings 2018 and to Wedding Wire for the Couple’s Choice Awards 2018. More importantly, thank you for all of your love and support. Such a great year would not be possible without you!
